We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-driven QA (Quality Assurance) Specialist who can work with our domestic design team and our international manufacturing and testing resources to manage the company's legal obligations as we build our continuously growing portfolio of outstanding products.
The QA specialist will become an expert in legal compliance, quality control, internal documentation, and communication with 3rd parties involved with logistical maintenance.
Responsibilities and Skills Develop inspection plans and testing plans to verify that our products continue to meet or exceed the standards of quality and legal compliance.
Work with overseas testing representatives to ensure that products have all the necessary paperwork, testing samples, labeling, and other compliance requirements needed to ship the product safely and on-time.
This includes physical, chemical, and transportation reports for finished goods, as well as documentation of product composition and manufacturing practices (LACEY Act, Technical File, TSCA/CARB certification, social compliance auditing, etc.
).
Ensure that all testing, inspections, and sampling expenses are properly costed, recorded, and conform to approved budgets to help maintain excellent bookkeeping.
Stay up-to-date on the latest regulations, obligations, and safety needs for toys and games in their countries of destination, mostly the United States and Canada.
Prior knowledge or a willingness to learn about the regulatory environments in the EU, United Kingdom, and other countries is a huge plus! Maintain communication with the company's Ownership Team, the factories, and various 3rd parties involved with worksite auditing and compliance.
This would include ensuring that any necessary corrections are made by the factories in a timely manner.
Work with the design team to build, maintain, and periodically update the Bills of Material (BOMs) for products to be as accurate as possible; This includes a commitment to detail regarding dimensions, cost, file names, etc.
, a good understanding of materials, and absolute consistency across an ever-growing and changing portfolio of games.
Remain flexible and adaptable, taking on additional tasks as required.
Education and Experience 3-5 years of
Experience:
Background in Logistics, Operations/Project Management, Manufacturing or other related fields is preferred.
A great understanding of testing parameters, legal requirements, and manufacturing practices.
Previous experience with toys and games (classified under ASTM F963, SOR 2011/17, and EN-71) is a plus, but not required.
Excellent attention to detail and fantastic organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with our overseas representatives located primarily in China.
Comfort working with multiple spreadsheets, databases and learning new systems.
